Grab a friend and climb aboard Premier Boat Tours luxury pontoon for a view of the Dora Canal that few get to experience. Their 40 foot boats features comfortable seating, a canopy that offers ample shade, and drop down clear plastic shade for sudden rain. Premier Tours last two hours, about half of which is spent leisurely crossing beautiful Lake Dora near the city of Tavares. The second half of the tour offers the the opportunity to see the heavy vegetation, towering cypress, and ample wildlife that flourishes along the Dora Canal. Here you will feel the excitement of being in a thick jungle and seeing herons, alligators, turtles and other native Central Florida animals. Lake Dora is part of the Harris Chain of Lakes.
Your experienced captain will narrate the tour with information about the ecology of the canal, the greater Harris Chain of Lakes, and of the history of the area. Captains are United States Coast Guard Certified so you can be assured of your safety at all times. Tours do not need to booked in advance but it is recommended to make a reservation so that you know you have a spot. Private tours are available for either the 22 person pontoon or their smaller 6 person boat.
Premier Tours offers several tours in addition to its most common Dora Canal run. Guests can choose to go on a one hour sunset tour along the shores of Lake Dora looking to the rich bird diversity that congregates there in the evenings. Seasonal tours are also available such as a Half Day Dora Canal & Dead River tour. Some of these include snacks and drinks but if your chosen cruise does not provide any snacks, you are allowed to bring your own. Premier Boat Tours Highly recommends that you always call ahead to book as tours may be full or may be cancelled due to unforseen events. To find out more about Premier Tours, PLEASE CLICK HERE.
