The Trout Lake Nature Center is a hidden gem in north Eustis, Lake County, Florida. Located on 230 acres of protected wilderness, the Nature Center offers an oasis of botanical and fauna diversity. Guests of the Nature Center can enjoy a 1,000 foot boardwalk out over the lake, many interpretive trails, a swinging bridge, a picnic pavilion, the Charles Newell Hall and Museum,and the Environmental Education Center. These last two are intended as classrooms and audio visual training rooms to teach the public about this magnificent preserve and Florida wilderness in general. The classrooms can seat up to 125 people.
The Trout Lake Nature Center is located on the outskirts of Eustis, Florida just less than a mile east of the intersection of highway 19 and highway 44. The center is open Tuesday-Saturday from 9am to 4pm, on Sunday from 1pm-4pm, and closed on Sundays. The Trout Lake Nature Center considers itself an outreach organization to the community working to educate the community on proper stewardship of our natural resources and helping to build an appreciation for the amazing outdoors of Florida.
